Senator Benjamin Cardin Visits Fairchild Controls

On Monday July 6th, EADS Fairchild Controls welcomed Senator Benjamin Cardin (D-MD) to its aerospace production facility in Frederick, Maryland. After a business overview with company President Scott Selle and the Fairchild Controls leadership team, Mike Stauffer, VP of Integrated Supply Chain, led Senator Cardin on a tour of the engineering and manufacturing areas. Senator Cardin gained a first hand view of products used by U.S. forces on platforms such the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle and the C-130 Military Transport Aircraft.

Senator Cardin was encouraged by the fact that Fairchild Controls, a Maryland based company, has been able to grow despite the challenging economic environment. "I want to commend your employees for their innovative development of new technological systems for the defense and aerospace industry," said Senator Cardin. "In my visit, I was particularly impressed by the passion and creativity of your employees in finding new designs that would achieve remarkable goals."

Following the tour, Senator Cardin took the opportunity to meet with a group of employees and presented the company with a certificate of recognition from the U.S. Senate. Selle said "EADS Fairchild Controls appreciates Senator Cardin's continued support. Everyone was thrilled that he took the time to learn about our capabilities in person".
