Fairchild Controls, a business unit of EADS North America, was recently nominated by its customers in four categories for the 2009 Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA) awards. The SEA conducted a rigorous process of down-selecting from hundreds of companies throughout the United States to select the semi-finalist for each category. The next stage of the competition included blind scoring by a panel of seasoned industry executives that determined the category finalists. Fairchild Controls was selected as a finalist in the following three award categories:

  • Most Improved Using SEA Metrics - Ranks finalists in four important metrics: Inventory turns; revenue-per-employee, on-time delivery, and defects per million opportunities.

  • Supply Chain Innovation - Awards measurable achievement in deploying lean manufacturing and Six Sigma-driven continuous improvement into the value stream of operational processes.

  • Stephen E. Barton Award For Leadership & Culture - Recognizes companies for their commitment to excellence in leadership processes, strategic planning, and organizational performance.

SEA is an aerospace and defense alliance led by sub-tier suppliers committed to accelerating supply chain performance. SEA partners include the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG), and the Society of British Aerospace Companies (SBAC).

"Congratulations to all EADS Fairchild Controls employees for this great recognition from our customers and colleagues in the aerospace industry" said Scott Selle President of Fairchild Controls.
