Fairchild Controls Enters Strategic Partnership with Firstec Co., Ltd

Fairchild Controls, an EADS North America company, has entered into a strategic partnership with Firstec Co., Ltd, to provide cooling equipment for the Republic of Korea (ROK) Air Force fleet of F-16 fighter jets. The companies have also agreed to jointly develop thermal management systems for new aerospace and defense applications in the ROK. The partnership could result in new business opportunities on Korean military helicopters and combat aircraft worth up to $10 million.

Firstec Co., Ltd., is a Korean company that produces electrical and mechanical assemblies and controls that are installed on aerospace and military platforms around the world.

The president of Fairchild Controls, Scott Selle, and CEO of Firstec, YW Jeon, signed the agreement on June 9 during a ceremony at Fairchild Controls’ headquarters in Frederick, Maryland. Senior executives from both companies were on hand to take part in the ceremony and witness the signing of the agreement. 

“Fairchild Controls has successfully collaborated with Firstec in the development of an environmental control system for the ROK”, said Selle. “This agreement signifies our continued commitment to developing new technologies and expanding our global footprint as we move forward in growing the company."
