Fairchild Controls expands its headquarters with new development facilities and a high-power electronics laboratory

June 14, 2007

Fairchild Controls Corporation today inaugurated a new expansion of its Frederick, Maryland headquarters operation, providing additional development and production capacity to support its industry leadership in high-power electronic controls for aerospace and military applications.

The 5,400 sq. ft. growth area includes a world-class high-power electronics laboratory and additional workstations. It also allows for a collocation of the company's manufacturing, quality and procurement personnel for improved operating efficiency.

"This expansion will enable Fairchild Controls to further advance its technology and capabilities as the industry increasingly moves toward high-power electronics for both aircraft and land-based vehicles," said Fairchild Controls President Scott Selle.

The company designs and manufactures environmental control systems and power sources for military and commercial applications. Its products are used on commercial airliners, military fighter aircraft and ground combat vehicles. Applications include power sources for Boeing's 747 and 767, the supplemental cooling system on Airbus' A380, the thermal management system for General Dynamics' Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle, and the payload thermal management system for Raytheon's ATFLIR targeting pods that equip F/A-18 fighter aircraft.
