Scott Selle has been named President of Fairchild Controls Corporation of Frederick, Maryland.Fairchild Controls is a subsidiary of EADS North America, the Virginia-based operation of EADS, a global leader in aerospace and defense systems. Within EADS, Fairchild Controls develops, produces and supports power conversion and control electronics, environmental control systems, and turbo-machinery for military and commercial customers worldwide.
Mr. Selle assumed leadership of Fairchild Controls on June 12th, 2006. His responsibilities include management of all strategy and operations for the business. He is primarily focused on driving performance through four key initiatives: supporting customers; creating profitable growth; accelerating continuous improvement of company processes; and providing a respectful,professional and developmental environment for employees. Additionally, Mr. Selle holds a position on the board of directors for Fairchild Controls Corporation.
Before joining Fairchild Controls, Mr. Selle held several positions with Honeywell (formerlyAlliedSignal). Most recently he was Director of Component Aftermarket Services for Honeywell Aerospace, with integrated supply chain leadership responsibility for seven facilities located inthe US and Canada. Before that he was the General Manager of Honeywell heat transfer and electric power after market business in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also served as the plant manager for Honeywell manufacturing facility in Anniston, Alabama, providing components for the M1Abrams Main Battle Tank. Additionally, Mr. Selle held leadership positions in the Honeywell Aerospace Global Sourcing and Quality Assurance organizations during his tenure from 1995through June of 2006.
Prior to his aerospace industry career, Mr. Selle served as a submarine officer in the United States Navy in San Diego and Pearl Harbor, achieving the rank of lieutenant. He also held a position as a deputy director of tactical training for cruise missile and submarine warfare on thestaff of the Commander of U.S. Pacific Fleet Training Command.
Mr. Selle was born in Atlanta, Georgia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science Engineering from the University of Florida, and a Master degree in Business Administration from Arizona State. He also has been certified as a Black Belt in Honeywell Six Sigma continuous improvement program, and holds various professional development certificates in quality assurance, business management, and lean manufacturing. Mr. Selle and his wife Stephanie were married in 2002.
